Posted by wmshuman Sunday, 2008-February-03 Looking for a company that can trace your image for FREE? Look no further than Vector Magic. This website brought to you by the geniuses at Stanford University, is a designer's missing link when it comes to creating a flawless vector image of your file. What is vectorization you ask? Vectorization (aka tracing) is the process of converting a raster image to a vector image. Raster images are pixel-based (photo images), whereas vector images are represented by geometric shapes such as lines, circles and curves (can be any size without distortion). How can this program help me? If your not in a design field, basically it can't. But, for the hundreds of thousands that are, you can use this little proggie to redraw images into vector line drawings with the touch of a button. I personally tested this online drawing tool and I must say I am very impressed. I have used Corel Trace, Adobe Streamline, and other vector drawing programs, but I have never seen anything online be so accurate. Let's not forget the best part...It's Free! Here is another link to the Vector Tracing Program Vector Magic. Post reply
